College Life
I started college at Brigham Young University-Idaho in September of 2007. My parents, and the couple of sisters that came along (I think just Stacy and Laura), drove me over to Rexburg, Idaho at the end of August. We went to Utah first and had a great time looking around temple square. We also went to a theme park. It was a fun vacation right before I left for college. I got dropped off at school a week before I could move into my dorm, since my sisters had to get back to school, but I stayed with some church members for that week.
Dorm Life
For my first semester at school, I lived in the Chapman dorms. I roomed with Jill Gibbons, a friend of mine from back home who moved to California during our junior year. Then there were four others: Elizabeth, Darla, Tanis and Stephanie. We had a tiny living room, an okay sized bathroom, and no kitchen. We did have four micro-fridges (one in each bedroom and one in the living room), but it wasn't much. For me, other than cereal for Sunday breakfasts, I pretty much ate every meal at the Galley (the school cafeteria at the time). The food wasn't that bad, but it did get a bit old. Breakfast was my favorite for sure.
My second semseter at school, Winter semester 2008, I still lived in dorms, but stayed at Perkins instead. Perkins had just four people to an apartment, and a kitchen, too! Our living room was also a lot bigger. I still roomed with Jill, though we got two new roommates: Lindsay and Amber. The four of us became great friends, and it was a great semester. We hung out a lot, at our place or at some guy friends' apartments. A ritual we had was that pretty much every Saturday, we would go to the Great Harvest Bread store and get a piece of bread with butter and honey on it for 25 cents! We always walked there, since none of us had a car; we would go even when it was freezing and snowing outside.
